Read moreWhile microfinance has been a centrepiece of its action research and collaborative initiatives, FDC has explored interventions in a range of areas that benefit the poor and disadvantaged, or otherwise contribute to improved livelihoods at the grass roots. These projects span energy, governance, local economic development, private sector engagement, the resource sector, social enterprise development and information, technology and communication for development, and effective partnerships. Of note is FDC’s partnership with the Asian Development Bank which led to the creation of the Energy for all Partnership and provision of energy access to over 100 million people in Asia and the Pacific. Further, FDC’s work with on Governance and Leadership for Women in the Pacific was recognised in the annual awards of the United Nations Association of Australia.
