This paper summarises outcomes from an FDC and World Vision International workshop entitled “Microfinance and Disaster Management”. The workshop brought together 27 microfinance and disaster management practitioners from eight countries in Asia in areas where natural disasters are a regular fact of life. It includes examples of ways and means that disaster management agencies and microfinance initiatives can collaborate, especially in relation to disaster preparedness and mitigation.
