This paper provides a brief introduction to microfinance in Vanuatu.

Section 2 provides some general background on microfinance, while the institutions currently providing microfinance services in Vanuatu are discussed in section 3.

The paper then discusses some conceptual issues affecting microfinance in Vanuatu, namely the demand for microfinance (section 4) and sustainability (section 5).
