Lessons Learnt on the MIRAB Model, 2004

This paper highlights the similarities of the “MIRAB” model in Sri Lanka – an island nation located in the Indian Ocean – and draws implications for the island nations of the Pacific.

This paper also broadly synthesizes the key macro and micro-level policy interventions. In doing so, the paper identifies lessons learned and draws implications for the Pacific Islands in their quest for effectively dealing with issues of the “MIRAB” model.
