Resource sector companies in developing countries operate in a complex environment. They face a range of challenges which require innovative solutions. One such challenge is the need to help secure sustainable livelihoods for communities in areas/regions in which they operate. Resource sector companies should consider more innovative strategies including investing further in local economic development (LED) through forging multi-stakeholder partnerships.
