Asia Microfinance Forum Session Synopsis, 2014

Convened by the Banking with the Poor Network (BWTP), the Asia Microfinance Forum 2014 was organized by the Foundation for Development Cooperation (FDC), with the Citi Foundation as lead partner, and the China Association of Microfinance (CAM) as local host. AMF 2014 brought together practitioners of microfinance and financial inclusion to discuss and share information, technologies and best practices, focusing on this year’s theme: “Financial Inclusion in Asia: Creating dynamic financial ecosystems for the poor.” Recognizing a paradigm shift from microfinance to financial inclusion, speakers and attendees at AMF 2014 pinpointed new developments and discussed how the industry will adapt to these changes while continuing to enhance microfinance’s overriding mission to bring relief to the poor, and provide more inclusive financial services to unbanked and underbanked entrepreneurs and their families.
